When asked about her favorite part about Emory Synapse she said, "Having the opportunity to learn from the perspectives and experiences of individuals with traumatic brain injury while being able to raise awareness on campus and connect with the broader Atlanta community!"

Meet Ganesh Chilukuri! He is a Junior at Emory University pursuing a Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology (NBB) and a minor in Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies (MESAS). When asked about his favorite part about Emory Synapse he said, “The ability to interact with individuals with traumatic brain injury. I love how the best way to help change the world and their life is through simply talking and becoming friends with those who are willing.”

During the pandemic, we managed to create supportive and intimate environments over zoom. Everyone enjoyed coloring with our buddies through our computer screens and sharing stories!”

Meet Rodrigo Salinas! He is a Sophomore at Emory University pursuing a Chemistry major. When asked about his favorite part about Emory Synapse he said, “I love the community of selfless students and diverse TBI-afflicted individuals that constitute Emory Synapse. I feel as if everyone within Synapse actively works to foster friendship and inclusion, and that ultimately makes us a really cohesive organization with some of the brightest and friendliest minds in Atlanta”

Between the informative guest lectures and exciting buddy program meetings, not only have I learned so much from those with brain injuries, but I have gotten to meet and connect with so many great people!”

I understand how important for us human beings to stay connected with others, so I think that what we achieve through Emory Synapse is so helpful in countless ways for everyone involved!"

Meet Jordan Zgodny! She is a Senior at Emory University pursuing a major in Psychology on the pre-med track. When asked about her favorite part about Emory Synapse she said, “I love getting to interact with TBI individuals and hear their stories. They all have many similarities and differences that contribute to a wide array of personal experiences. I enjoy getting to work with other passionate Emory students to create the awesome supportive community we have currently for TBI individuals. I hope to keep improving the community and expand resources for the members of our group to keep growing Synapse both on and off campus!"
